UN condemns surge in executions in Iran

  UN human rights experts condemn the recent surge in executions in Iran, the majority of which are unreported. Reports received from Geneva on 8th May 2015 from United Nations Special Rapporteurs involving the situation of human rights in Iran by Ahmed Shaheed and on extrajudicial executions by Christof Heyns have condemned the drastic in crease in executions since the psst few weeks.
These Special Rapporteurs have jointly urged the Iranian Government to heed to the growing appeal by the UN human rights system to halt all executions and to establish a suspension of the death penalty with intent to abolish the practice permanently.

Iran, Shiraz: 9 executions in just one day

According to reliable sources in Shiraz, southern Iran, in a collective mass execution, 9 prisoners were hanged last Wednesday in Adel-Abad prison, Shiraz. Three of them were Afghan citizens. The clerical regime has not announced nor identified the names of these victims. 

The overwhelming number of executions in recent months in Iran is despite a government pledge to annual the death sentence for petty drug addicts in the month of April, which currently is punishable by death, according to Iran’s judiciary.

Iran; prisoners protest imminent execution of cellmates in two prisons in Karaj

Inmates throw stones at criminal prison guards and scream, "we won't let you kill us!"

NCRI-According to received reports,the prisoners in the Gohardasht prison and the Central priosn in karaj havi launched a protest to save  dozens of their cellmates who are on the verge of execution.
